The Lord is teaching me that giving myself fully to stewarding the Spirit and delving into the mysteries he unveils and cultivating the life he gives is not a short-lived burst of energy; it is not a chaotic scramble to reach this final place of maturity to operate from for the rest of my life.  Thank the Lord for maturity and growth in the Spirit, but this is a lifelong journey.  Those exhortations of Paul to make melody in your heart to the Lord, to pray in the Spirit and rejoice at all times are practices that you will never outgrow; for your union with the Spirit is not for some kind of personal end, but it is the very purpose of your existence, the very intention of God's design when he created you in his own image.  So seek his face.
